30th of April and 1st of May (Mayday) are dates to meet the witches and sorcerers
and Ione Rucquoi, an Oxford born artist does exactly that in her works.
As she puts it:
‘…(she) seeks to liberate censored fears, anxieties and obsessions,
to heighten awareness of Jung’s ‘Shadow’, and ultimately to represent emotion in its complexities.’
‘…(her)visceral work considers the disowned and unconscious aspects of the self.
Exploring fundamental elements of human existence and experience
- birth, death, loss and change – she dismantles the constructs of society and unveils
the hidden and taboo.’

Belgian photographer, Frieke Janssens, made this beautiful yet controversial photos.
There were no real cigarettes in the set :)
The author says:
Adult smokers are the societal norm, so I wanted to isolate the viewer’s focus
upon the issue of smoking itself. I felt that children smoking would have a surreal
impact upon the viewer and compel them to truly see the acts of smoking rather
than making assumptions about the person doing the act.
